The VUPX series of submersible propeller pumps are ideal for applications where large volumes of storm or process water have to be pumped to heads up to a maximum of 12 m. These compact pumps feature highly efficient three- or four-blade propellers with low NPSH characteristic and a space-saving design. They ensure high reliability and efficiency.

The VUPX series of submersible propeller pumps are ideal for applications where large volumes of storm or process water have to be pumped to heads up to a maximum of 12 m. These compact pumps feature highly efficient three- or four-blade propellers with low NPSH characteristic and a space-saving design. They ensure high reliability and efficiency.

Information

VUPX pumps are ideal for storm water protection, for irrigation and dewatering, for cooling and process water, and for a multitude of other applications. They can be installed vertically in order to save space. The compact units are lowered into standard steel tubes and need no anchoring, as their own weight is sufficient to hold the units securely in position, using the well-proven SULZER coupling ring. The robust design and quality materials ensure high operational reliability and hydraulic efficiency up to 87%.

  • Pumps up to size VUPX 800 are equipped with premium-efficiency IE3 motors ranging from 7.5 to 400 kW.
  • VUPX 1000- and 1200-size pumps are partly equipped with IE3 motors.
  • Pumps with higher power (up to 650kW / 50 Hz and 700 kW / 60 Hz) are driven by M9-size motors and optionally equipped with planetary gear boxes.

Main design features

Common to all models:

  • Class H (140°C / 284°F) insulation
  • Explosion-proof version as option (ATEX, FM or CSA)
  • 100 000 hours bearing life
  • Double mechanical seal
  • Seal protection against spinning fibers
  • Sealed cable connection chamber with two stage cable entry
  • Lifting hoop (stainless steel as option)
  • Planetary gearboxes, driven by four-pole motors, deliver higher efficiency and lower weight compared to high-pole motors

PE4 to PE6 motors:

  • Premium efficiency IE3 motors ranging from 7.5 – 400 kW
  • Premium efficiency IE3 motors in acc. with IEC 60034-30
  • NEMA class A up to 110 kW / 168 hp, above NEMA class B
  • Double silicon mechanical seal
  • Condition monitoring (temperature, water ingress, option: vibration monitoring)

M8/9 motors:

  • Condition monitoring (temperature, water ingress, option: vibration monitoring)
  • Planetary gearboxes driven by four-pole motors provide higher power for excellent efficiency
